Bachelor in Musical Receives Quality Label
It’s official: the Musical programme at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel is ready for the future.
On 28 January 2025, the Board of Governors of Erasmus University College Brussels approved the quality assurance review report. This endorsement secures the quality of the Bachelor in Musical for the next six-year cycle, from 1 October 2025 until 30 September 2031.
The decision confirms what students, teachers, and professionals in the field have long known: the Musical programme – unique in Flanders – offers high-quality, ambitious, and future-oriented education.

Strong Foundations, Clear Vision for the Future
The programme stands out thanks to its well-defined mission and clear profile. Its three artistic pillars – singing, acting, and dancing – are firmly embedded in the curriculum, while the attention paid to scenography adds a distinctive layer to the training. The recent revision of the learning outcomes framework demonstrates the team’s ongoing reflexivity and its responsiveness to the needs of the contemporary professional field.
Students follow a carefully constructed trajectory that allows them to grow both within the programme and on stage. A variety of performance opportunities, a holistic assessment system, and strong individual guidance create a safe yet stimulating learning environment.
Two Policy Priorities for the Coming Years
Alongside the formal quality endorsement, the Board of Governors outlined several strategic priorities:
- Internationalisation: Strengthen the international dimension within the curriculum, while maintaining the unique character of the programme.
- Educational Development: Further develop the pedagogical-didactic foundation in collaboration with the educational developer, with continued attention to staff professionalisation.
- Transparency and Communication: Ensure clear communication with students and fully document the curriculum structure.

A Programme in Motion
This approved peer review confirms that the Bachelor in Musical is not only strong in quality but also forward-looking and agile. The programme is a vibrant artistic ecosystem that prepares students for a wide range of follow-up studies and professional roles – from ensemble member to creative maker.
"This is a programme that works effectively and is committed to continuous improvement. It is a valuable part of our educational offering and contributes to a higher education landscape that is both artistically and socially relevant."
