I studied both music and musicology. Music at the conservatories of Ghent, Brussels and Maastricht; musicology at the university of Louvain. Since I was appointed as the librarian at this conservatory, my new work environment became the subject of my doctoral dissertation: “The collection development of the library of the Conservatory of Brussels.” Besides my job as a librarian, I am active in library associations and I also teach music history at the Conservatory.

My musical domain is that of the string instruments. I obtained First Prizes violin and viola and after that I played the first viola player in various orchestras and ensembles. Another area that interests me is computer science. I followed an education in network management and since then I am the system administrator at the Brussels Conservatory. By consequence, I am also responsible for the IT management of the library, the sector par excellence where information meets IT. I am only satisfied when, thanks to technology, the musical heritage comes closer to the people.
