Magic Flutes in Concert
The flute ensemble of the KCB presents Magic Flutes in Concert, a sparkling programme that showcases the rich expressive range of the flute. Under the direction of Rogier De Pijper, and prepared by flute professor Lieve Goossens, the ensemble performs the effervescent overture from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte alongside the lyrical Adagio from his Flute Concerto in G major, with Raul Delgado as soloist. Ravel’s vividly coloured Ma Mère l’Oye meets the virtuosity of Ian Clarke’s Within…, and the infectious Samba… alla Turca! by Philip R. Buttall brings the concert to a festive close.
