The Friends of Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel non-profit association is a warm community of supporters who want to support the Conservatoire, its students and alumni. It does so by organising concerts, awarding prizes, including the prestigious Toots Thielemans Jazz Award, and providing targeted financial or material support. In this way, promising musicians in all disciplines, classical music, jazz and musical theatre, are given opportunities to refine their skills, gain valuable stage experience and further develop their careers in the music world.

Why become a member?

  • You provide direct and tangible support to talented young musicians who are choosing an artistic career.
  • You contribute to KCB's ambition to maintain its position among Europe's leading institutions.
  • You support a broad range of artistic practices, from classical music to jazz and musical theatre, and help strengthen initiatives that facilitate the crucial transition from education to a career on stage or in the studio.
  • You become part of a solid and experienced organisation: the association has existed for more than fifty years and works closely with the management, supported by professionals from the cultural and business sectors. Your contribution is put to maximum use: the board members work entirely on a voluntary basis, meaning that the funds go directly to students and alumni.

What do you get?

  • Your membership entitles you, whether you have an individual or joint membership, to two tickets per event. You can use the tickets yourself or pass them on to whoever you choose. You can order additional tickets at cost price by emailing vrienden.kcbrussel@gmail.com.
  • It is often possible to have a drink after the performance and meet other Friends. We also organise a get-together every year.
  • If you wish, as an affiliated member of the Friends, you can have an advisory vote at the general meetings of the Friends.
  • You will remain directly informed about what is happening at the Conservatoire.
