Hommage John Ruocco (1952 -2025)

Students and colleagues of the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel pay tribute to saxophonist, clarinettist and big band coach John Ruocco (1952–2025). Ruocco was one of the central figures in the Belgian jazz scene and inspired generations of musicians with his artistry, warmth and humour. He collaborated with greats such as Dizzy Gillespie, Toots Thielemans and Joe Lovano, but above all left a lasting mark as a teacher and coach. Under the direction of Lode Mertens, the KCB Big Band presents a swinging and powerful programme in homage to an unforgettable musician and mentor.
