Portuguese Music Meets Modern Jazz
“Quem canta, seus males espanta”, or “Those who sing chase their troubles away.” Inspired by this Portuguese saying, students from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel take you on a musical journey through Portuguese sounds and stories. From traditional melodies and an old lullaby to songs by Fausto, Jorge Palma, Sérgio Godinho and José Mário Branco, the programme moves from intimate and reflective moments to lively, rhythmic music. With flute, voice, saxophone, double bass and drums, the students bring a fresh and personal sound to this rich musical tradition.
