Historisch Geïnformeerde uitvoerders willen weten hoe de muziek klonk ten tijde van het leven van de componist of op het één of ander precies moment en  precieze plaats  in het verleden. Het inzicht in de bouwwijze van historische instrumenten, hun speelwijze en klankeigenschappen,  in welke staat ze ook zijn na eeuwen van verouderen, is een essentieel onderdeel van dit proces en maakt het onderwerp van uit dit Symposium, waarbij we ons voor deze editie op de houtblazers concentreren.
