An homage to Daniel Blumenthal | Concert Piano Department

The Piano Department presents ~ About Unwavering Friendship ~
An homage to Daniel Blumenthal

Since the 2025-2026 academic year, Daniel Blumenthal has been enjoying his well-deserved retirement. The entire Piano Department, together with the students, professors and direction of KCB, would like to express their gratitude for his years of dedication and inspiration. This concert is a special tribute to his work and influence.

The programme offers an engaging mix of masterpieces and surprises: from Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite and Debussy’s 6 Epigraphes antiques, to Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre and Tchaikovsky’s well-known dances from The Nutcracker, interspersed with improvisations and highlights from Beethoven’s Symphony VII and Schubert’s Rondo, D.608, titled ‘Notre amitié est invariable’.

During this concert, the piano professors of KCB bring their interpretations to life:
Inge Spinette, Daniel Blumenthal, Aleksandar Madzar, Jan Michiels, Piet Kuijken,
Hans Ryckelinck and Boyan Vodenitcharov.

After the concert, you are kindly invited to a reception.
