Saxophonist Robin Verheyen (¼ TaxiWars) brings Drew Gress (John Zorn) and Billy Hart (Miles Davis) to KCB for a Masterclass.
Belgian saxophonist Robin Verheyen has built an impressive international career, from his work with Tom Barman’s TaxiWars to his acclaimed New York quartet. Now, he forms a trio with two titans of the New York jazz scene: bassist Drew Gress, known for his collaborations with John Zorn and Fred Hersch, and the legendary drummer Billy Hart, whose discography includes milestones like On The Corner (Miles Davis) and Karma (Pharoah Sanders).
Their latest album, Liftoff, was recorded with Wayne Shorter in mind and showcases Verheyen’s refined artistry. Advance single Soul Searching—described by Verheyen as “a song about finding love and meeting your soulmate”—is already a gem.
Join us on the 11th of March at Campus Kaai for this exclusive Masterclass with three jazz masters.
