Tomás Arboledas Rumí is a Spanish percussionist and marimba player from Linares. Guided by his father, he began his musical training in the town’s band and orchestra, while also developing his skills as a drummer in pop groups. He studied percussion at the conservatories of Linares, Jaén and Seville, before continuing his training at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Marinus Komst, Jan Pustjens and Lorenzo Ferrándiz.
A versatile musician, his work spans classical and contemporary music, rock, folk, jazz and flamenco. He has performed with the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra, the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra and the Granada City Orchestra, and has collaborated with artists including Jorge Pardo and Jerry González.
A particular focus of his work is the development of the marimba as a solo instrument within flamenco. This exploration led to his debut album, *Andalucía* (2007), for marimba and flamenco ensemble. Through his own compositions and international performances, he continues to explore and expand the possibilities of this musical combination. Alongside his performing career, he teaches percussion at the Conservatorio Superior de Música ‘Victoria Eugenia’ in Granada.
