International Lecturers - Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel

Hanns-Martin Schreiber was born in Schwerin (Germany) in 1954. He began studying piano and chamber music at the age of 16 at the Hochschule für Musik in Leipzig, and attended master-classes with Günter Kootz, Hélène Boschi and Peter Rösel. After graduating he taught piano at the music school and was a répétiteur of instrumental music at the Leipzig Hochschule.

His wide-ranging concert career, often in the company of distinguished colleagues from the great orchestras of Dresden (Staatskapelle) and Leipzig (Gewandhausorchester, MDR Sinfonieorchester), is documented by broadcast performances from the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Semper Oper Dresden and the Leipzig Gewandhaus. Further recognition of his skills has come in the form of prizes in international music competitions.

In 1993 Hanns-Martin Schreiber was appointed professor for piano chamber music and collaborative piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig. He is dedicated not only to training the University's students, but also to fostering precollege students and children how show potential for a musical career. Thus he serves regularly on the juries of musical competitions and gives master-classes. He was elected Vice Rector with special responsibility for academic affairs and artistic practice in 2006 to 2015. Currently 17 pianists from ten countries are studying in his chamber music class.
 

Telmo Marques (b. 1963) is a Portuguese pianist, composer and arranger from Oporto.
He studied Piano, Composition, and Music Analysis with Fernanda Wandschneider, Hélia
Soveral, Carlos Cebro, Jean Martin, Fernando Puchol, Fernando Lapa, Cândido Lima, Paul Trein, and
Miguel Ribeiro-Pereira. He did further studies with Jean Martin, Carlos Cebro, Fernando Puchol, and
Paul Trein. He Finished the Porto Conservatory of Music (superior diploma) with the highest grade –
20 valores. Further, he graduated in piano at the ESMAE-IPP (Prize Eugénio de Almeida – best
classification), completed a Master of Arts at Roehampton University in UK, and a PhD programme in
Computer Music at the UCP – Portuguese Catholic University (summa cum laude).

He still develops an activity as a performer, especially in chamber music and jazz combos,
playing in Portugal, Madrid, Barcelona, Tenerife, Paris, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Luxemburg,
Genève, Zurich, Macau, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Osaka, etc. As a composer, he received commissions for
Orchestral, Soloists, Chamber Music, and Advertising. Porto 2001 Cultural Capital and Guimarães 2012
Cultural Capital are both examples of those commissions. He has also contributed to a wide range of
music for theatrical plays, documentaries, and hundreds of commercials.

He has over than 100 recording participations as pianist, arranger, composer and/or producer.
Some of his compositions are published in score by BIM editions, AVA editions, and Molenaar editions.
He is professor Adjunto and Head of the Music Department in ESMAE (Superior Music School
of the Oporto Polytechnic Institute), where he teaches Music Analysis and Composition. He is also an
integrated member of the CITAR – UCP (Research Center for Science and Technology of the Arts), and
a collaborative researcher of the i2ADS (Instituto de Investigação em Arte, Design e Sociedade).

António Augusto Aguiar | double bass
He started his double bass studies with his brother Adriano Aguiar and later with Jean-Marc Faucher at the Conservatory of Music of Porto.

After graduating from ESMAE in the class of Florian Pertzborn, he graduated in 2000, with Distinction, in Master of Performance at the Royal Academy of Music - London with Duncan Mctier.
He was awarded the "Special Foundation Award" and obtained the "Licenciate - Double Bass teacher" diploma.
He won the "Manlio & Selma Di Veroli Double Bass Prize" contest (1999).
Soloist of the contemporary music group Remix Ensemble since its foundation in 2000, he has recorded more than a dozen CDs dedicated to contemporary music.

Since 1992 he has been active in jazz and during five years doublebass player of the Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra. Special note to his participation in the CD's "A Lenda" by Carlos Azevedo, "Encomenda" by the Quintet of Mário Santos, "Narsad Suite" by Luis Lapa, "Ad Libitum" for solo bass, "Raku" by Hugo Danin Trio, "Tu no Dances "by Rui Teixeira," Cloud "from the quartet A4 by Mário Santos and" Stereo "with the Ploo by Paulo Costa.
His work "Pandora" was performed by the Remix Ensemble at the Casa da Musica (Porto), in Azores, Clairemont Ferrain (France) and the Huddersfield Festival (England), which can be heard on his "Contratemporâneo" CD dedicated to contemporary music for solo double bass, where he also performs works by Jorge Peixinho and Rebecca Saunders.
António Augusto Aguiar concluded his PhD in Music at the University of Aveiro (2012) with the theme: "Shape and Memory in Improvisation".
He is president of the School of Music and Performing Arts in Porto (ESMAE). 

Mário Azevedo(1957). Diploma of the Stichting Orffwerkgroep Delft(Netherlands). He worked in the Paula Frassinetti ESE between 1984 and 1996. Since 1996 he is teaching at ESMAE/IPP where he is, currently, vice-president.
Co-founder of the Orquestra Orff and of the Oporto Orff Institute.

 
He has a PhD in Art Education in FBAUP (U. Porto) and is also member of NIMAE/i2ADS (research group) where cultivates a deep attention through Arts Education, Music, Aesthetics and Philosophy.
The keywords of his work – silence, world and birth, reified-ear and ear-in-transit, open and indeterminacy – show ruptures of sense in the contemporary world.

He loves is family, plays lute covertly and, particularly likes Hildegard of Bingen and Josquin Desprez, Hans Memling and Thomas Hischhorn, Gustav Mahler and John Cage, Steve Reich and Toumani Diabaté, Vergilio Ferreira and Paul Celan, orchids and old vines.

He finished his studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Valencia. He did postgraduate studies in London at the Royal Academy of Music and later studied natural and baroque horn at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

He has been a member of the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla and of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria. And, as well, he has collaborated with the principals Spanish symphony orchestras: Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, and others.

In the field of historical interpretation, he is a member of Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla. He plays frequently with Estil Concertant, Orquesta Barroca de Mallorca, Capilla Peñaflorida, Orquesta Barroca de la Universidad de Salamanca, Capella de Ministrers, Al Ayre Español, Hippocampus, La Grande Chapelle, Los Mvsicos de su Alteza, Nachtmusique Ensemble, Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Freiburger Barockorchester, Les Musiciens du Louvre.
    
He has recorded and participate in larges productions and tours with conductors as René Jacobs, Frans Brüggen, Marc Minkowski, Barry Sargent, Sigiswald Kuijken, Eric Hoeprich, Monica Huggett, Diego Fasolis, Andrea Marcon, Christophe Coin...

In 1999 he was distinguished Associate Member of the Royal Academy of Music.

Currently, from 2006, he is a professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Sevilla. 

Singer, performer, teacher and researcher. He holds a degree in music production and a post-graduation in cultural management. Also obtained a degree in lyrical singing and a post-graduation in opera. Working closely with composers he premiered several new works and, in the last few years, after more than 15 years intensively performing opera, he has been researching and performing within the field of contemporary performance and vocal improvisation. He has been actively performing and teaching in very different contexts in Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, Ireland, Turkey, Slovenia, Russia, Lithuania and Brazil.

Teacher and international coordinator at ESMAE, Porto, he coordinates several international projects including HARMOS festival, an international Chamber Music Festival. He is member of NIMAE (ESMAE’s research centre) and chairman of the International Coordinators’ Working Group of Association of European Conservatoires (AEC). 

He holds a PhD in Arts – Contemporary performative practices where he developed a deep research about voice, body and improvisation.
