After several concerts focusing on earlier local repertoire - recently the final concert of the Belgian Music Days by our regular guest ensemble the Royal Music Band of the Guides - our students from the Orchestral Instruments Department will be working on an exclusive British programme, and this under the direction of the renowned British conductor Douglas Bostock. He presents a repertoire of works by contemporary British composers as well as Vaughan Williams and Grainger, well-known historical British composers whose compositions often expressed a kind of yearning for the folk England of yesteryear.
Thus, this concert groups together various intersections, between 20th and 21st centuries, between modernism and nostalgia, between Brussels and British.
