Conservamus Symphony Orchestra brings young musicians to the Grand Hall of Bozar with a monumental concert

Two years after its founding, the Conservamus Symphony Orchestra has established itself as a key presence in the symphonic landscape of Brussels. On Friday the 20th of February 2026, the orchestra will take the stage of the Henry Le Boeuf Hall in Bozar with an ambitious programme bringing together two monumental works of the symphonic repertoire.
More than a hundred young musicians from the EhB School of Arts, Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel (KCB) and the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles (CrB) join their strengths under the baton of the internationally renowned conductor Nicolás Pasquet.

The Conservamus Symphony Orchestra is an initiative of the non-profit organisation Conservamus and serves as an unique bridge between artistic education and professional practice. The orchestra brings together students from both conservatoires of Brussels within a large-scale symphonic framework, offering them the chance to gain experience at the highest level. After two successful editions, the project once again confirms its artistic ambition and educational value this year.

The programme features Richard Strauss’ monumental Eine Alpensinfonie, a compelling musical journey through the Alpine scenery in which the experience of nature and orchestral grandeur take centre stage. In addition, Maurice Ravels Daphnis et Chloé, Suite nr. 2 will be performeda dazzling masterpiece full of colour, lyricism and refined French elegance. The programme places high demands on both the individual musicians and the collective performance, emphasising the ensemble’s orchestral strength and versatility.

Nicolás Pasquet, associated with to the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester since 2024, leads the orchestra with his characteristic combination of precision, intensity and poetic musicality. Orchestral preparation is entrusted to Bart Bouckaerts, professor at the KCB.

This project is realised in close collaboration with the EhB School of Arts – RITCS (Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema & Sound). RITCS students are responsible for the complete video and sound recording of the concert. For these young creators, this represents a major artistic challenge as well as invaluable hands-on experience at the highest level.

Start of the renovation

With this concert, Conservamus further highlights its role as a connecting and enabling force. On the 2nd of February 2026, the association helped launch the long-awaited renovation of the shared conservatoire building on Regentschapsstraat, during a press conference attended by Ministers Bernard Quintin, Vanessa Matz, Cieltje Van Achter and Elisabeth Degryse. Following the remediation of the buildings and the removal of asbestos, the renovation works have now officially started, with the aim of preserving the historic heritage while transforming the building into a sustainable, future-oriented learning and concert environment for the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel and the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles.
