Igor Oistrakh, passing away of an exceptional violinist
More than a devoted teacher
The passing of Igor Oistrakh is a great loss to us all. Especially for us, the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, where he was professor of violin for many years and where he formed a generation of brilliant violinists.
Igor followed in the footsteps of his famous father David as a soloist and now Igor's only son, Valery, has also been teaching at our institution, continuing the tradition of the Russian violin school.
In the name of the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, we express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
We invite you to read the gripping article written as a tribute to Igor Oistrakh on the website of the Guardian.
