Welcome to the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel!

With a Bachelor and Master of the Brussels Conservatoire you are set for an inspiring professional career! If you want to join an international orchestra or end up doing something entirely different with your degree, our programmes are the ideal preparation for a bright future. 

I love KCB for its community of teachers and students who give themselves fully in pursuit of music in its beautifull form. This community provides support and space for me to grow, fail and become a better musician. Both teachers and students are fully dedicated to music and that's what makes me happy to come to the conservatoire!

Thomas Mayade

Thomas Mayade

Professor Jazz Trumpet

French trumpeter, arranger and composer Thomas Mayade graduated from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Chambéry, and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (FR). Now based in Brussels for 10 years, he has been multiplying projects for small and large ensemble such as the Bravo Big Band, LIFT, Kleptomatics, Nonetum Pop Orchestra with whom he has recorded several LPs. 

Today Thomas is a teacher at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel since 2016, and trumpet player for the Royal Band of the Belgian Navy since 2018.

He has collaborated with many artists such as Flat Earth Society (BE), Electro Deluxe (FR), Brussels Jazz Orchestra (BE), Jazz Station Big Band (BE), Bruno Vansina (BE). He has also recorded with Dialect-Music (FR), Lois Le Van (FR), Quinten De Craecker (BE), Geoffrey Fiorese (EU), Jelle Van Giel (BE), Boris Schmidt (BE), François Vaiana (BE), Tom Bourgeois (EU), Pierre Vervloesem (BE), Juicy (BE).
