Praised for his extraordinary versatility, pianist Simone Sgarbanti often combines lesser-known works from 20th-century French music with pieces from the canonical piano repertoire and improvisation in his programmes. In this way, he allows the audience to discover new music and relive familiar works in an intimate and refined interpretation.
After studying in Imola and Vienna, he won first prizes in several international competitions. Since 2024, he has been a piano teacher at the Conservatory of Reggio Emilia. This event is organised within the Erasmus+ network.
Paul Hindemith's music is often perceived as difficult and is therefore absent from many concert programmes. Yet behind this complexity lies a rich musical world. His Ludus Tonalis (1942), inspired by Bach's Wohltemperiertes Klavier, is considered one of the most important piano works of the 20th century.
