In the frame of the Picture Festival Brussels, we offer a multidisciplinary concert, in which image and music reinforce the artistic expression. A contemporary interpretation of "Formosius renascens".
"Formosius renascens" is the title of an engraving in a psalm book of 1675, from the collection of our library. "More beautiful reborn" is its meaning. This is also what every musical performance aims for: the last performance is more mature, richer and deeper than the previous one.
The ancient psalm book combines every psalm melody with an engraving. The image strengthens the message of the music, and the image also makes the music more accessible. This concert brings talented students and laureates on stage and it puts also the focus on the music collection of the conservatory library.
